Combined Dogging & Basic Rigging - Welshpool

This course is based on the National Standard for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk work. This combined course is designed to fast-track successful students to entry level dogging and basic rigging. CPCCLDG3001A - Licence to perform dogging and CPCCLRG3001A - Licence to perform rigging basic level are nationally recognised units of competency. 


A licence to perform high risk work is required if workers use or operate high risk work equipment or plant. Licences are valid in every Australian state and territory, enabling workers to operate high risk equipment under consistent standards throughout Australia.

The rigging component specifies the outcomes required to perform basic rigging work associated with movement of plant and equipment, steel erections, hoists (including mast climbing hoists), placement of pre-cast concrete, safety nets and static lines, perimeter safety screens and shutters; and cantilever crane platforms for licensing purposes.

The dogging component includes training in slinging techniques, the selection and inspection of lifting gear and / or the directing of the crane operator in the movement of the load when the load is out of view of the crane operator.


- Students must be a minimum of 18 years of age as per the requirements of the NAI Standards for Persons Performing High Risk Work.
- All Students must have basic English reading and writing skills and interpreters are not allowed in this course as per NAI Assessment Guidelines for Persons Performing High Risk Work.
- Sound maths skills are essential to be able to complete this training as a large component of the theory assessment involves maths.
- Students who may require additional support are encouraged to inform WA Skills Training staff prior to commencing the course.

This training is delivered at our Welshpool training centre and onsite at the clients’ workplace by arrangement.

On successful completion of the practical and theory assessments, a Statement of Attainment will be issued for the units of competency:
CPCCLDG3001A - Licence to perform dogging
CPCCLRG3001A - Licence to perform rigging basic level


An application for a High Risk Work Licence (DG - Dogging and RB - Rigging Basic) will be sent to WorkSafe WA for processing. The price of this High Risk Work Licence course includes the WorkSafe High Risk Licence application fees and the photographs required.
