TLILIC0005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)

This course is based on the National Standards for Licensing Persons Performing High Risk Work. It specifies the outcomes required to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) for licensing purposes, and involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.
 

Introduction

A licence to perform high risk work is required if workers use or operate high risk work equipment or plant. Licences are valid in every Australian state and territory, enabling workers to operate high risk equipment under consistent standards throughout Australia. WA Skills Training offers training for the licence WP Boom type elevating work platform.

COURSE CONTENT

This unit, TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more) involves the operation of a telescoping device, hinged device, or articulated device or any combination of these used to support a platform on which personnel, equipment and materials may be elevated to perform work.
Candidates will learn to:
• identify workplace hazards, and implement hazard control measures
• check the EWP for damage, and report defects
• carry out pre- and post-operational checks
• inspect ground suitability, and position the EWP for work
• operate EWP using best mobile practice and appropriate procedures
• respond to unplanned and unsafe situations
• lower, stow and secure the EWP after use.


COURSE DELIVERY and DURATION

This two day course is delivered in our Welshpool and Bunbury training centres or on clients’ worksite on request. 

CERTIFICATION

On successful completion of the practical and theory assessments, a  nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued for the unit of competency: TLILIC2005 Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more), and an application for a High Risk Work Licence (WP - Boom Type Elevating Work Platform) will be sent to WorkSafe WA for processing.
